Cravens Heritage Trains - Membership
Thank you for your interest in becoming a new member, or for renewing your existing membership. Your subscriptions help our totally unpaid Volunteers and Members to achieve the twin aims of preserving a Heritage London Underground Train as well as the maintenance and renovation of the Epping SIgnalling Museum - a former LU signal cabin and static shunting locomotive.
Active members will potentially be working in close proximity to a live, electric railway so as you would expect, Rules are in place to ensure safe working. When on London Underground property, additional Rules must be followed and directions obeyed. These are the main, common-sense Rules for members of Cravens Heritage Trains Ltd:
-
To become a Member you must have attained the age of 16. However, different minimum age limits may apply for access to work areas and LUL Depots.
-
A valid CHT Membership subscription must be in place before access is permitted to any London Underground Ltd Depot premises. Members must carry their membership card at all times and show it on demand.
-
The Directors of Cravens Heritage Trains Ltd reserve the absolute right to reprimand, suspend or expel a Member for misconduct, infringing these rules or exploiting membership solely to gain LU Depot access.
-
Members are expected to comply with all safety rules, notices and directions and are solely responsibility for their own actions. Cravens Heritage Trains Ltd is not responsible for loss or injury resulting from their behaviour.
-
On attending any railway location on CHT business, Members must sign in and declare they are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Lone working is only allowed if prior arrangements have been agreed.
-
Members who enter LU property are required to wear hi-vis jackets and suitable protective clothing and comply with all safety requirements. For example, wearing trainers is not permitted in work areas.
-
Members who deliberately cause damage to property may be required to make good the damage and render themselves liable for disciplinary action. Theft in any form will be reported to the Police/ BTP.
-
Any tools provided by CHT have been safety checked and must be returned to their storage area after use. Any damage or repairs needed must be nofitied to the Engineering Director. Members are discouraged from bringing their own personal electric tools.
-
Photography is only permitted if specific permission has been granted. Flash photography is prohibited at all times on LU property.
-
Members are requested to refrain from posting derogatory comments on social media and must not cause injury or offence to CHT or its partners. If you are unsure, please contact the Communications Director before you post. Swearing, abuse, trolling and similar anti-social behaviour will risk expulsion from Membership.
If you wish to sign up, we are now able to offer online applications for either new membership or renewals. All transactions are secure and are carried out via Paypal. Membership is a minimum of 1 year, starting on 1st January and running to 31st December of that same year. Members joining in the last three months of the year could benefit from up to 15 months membership in their 1st year. Your CHT membership also includes membership of Epping Signalling Museum.
